Balancing Divine Feminine and Masculine on Mount Shasta

Guest Blog by Dr. Amber Wolf

Our concept of masculine and feminine goes back to our childhood. Our ideas and feelings about male and female grow and change as we do.

Since my Catholic, East Coast, ‘60’s upbringing, I’ve come a long way. The world of Nature has been an incredible teacher, showing me its deepest balance.

What is cold and dark in the winter becomes a riot of light, color and sounds as it comes awake in the spring and summer – always creating balance. Sometimes balance takes a full year to achieve, or even 20 - or it can happen in an instant. In one moment I can go from feeling receptive and open to feeling like a powerful creator.

As I move into the wisdom years of my life, I’m becoming more aware of honoring this process of balance. I see ‘finding balance’ more like riding a wave; sometimes it’s up, sometimes it down, but always in some kind of motion - always seeking balance.

Whether our physical body is male or female, there is a place inside that is the other, and like the natural world, it seeks balance, and thrives when we are closer the center. There were years of wishing I were a man so that I could be powerful and have more choices in my life, but now I am delighted to be a woman - in love with my Sacred Feminine-ness.

I have learned to also honor, appreciate and even cultivate my Sacred Masculine-ness as a beautiful Brother that I share a body and soul with. He balances my She, and She my He in so many ways. Neither is better or more important than the other– I need both to exist on this Earth.

As we begin to awaken to this innate connection of Sacred Feminine/Masculine Balance we can become more present to our place in the world as a whole Being. We have the opportunity to be our own resource for happiness and health, and in turn that energy ripples out into the world creating change and peace.

“Be the change” from inside your Sacred Balance of Masculine and Feminine; learn to honor the ebb and flow of energy, emotions, and strength. From here, a place of possibility, your innate intelligence will communicate the gift of its balanced wisdom.

Dr. Amber Wolf will be joining with Andrew Oser to lead the Living as Your Awakened Self on Earth Retreat on sacred Mount Shasta August 25-29.  A major theme of the retreat will be balancing divine mascuine and feminine. Amber is an internationally known teacher, facilitator, author, recording artist, healing intuitive, channel and Kryon Team member.

Is Mount Shasta God?

spiritual life coaching

I realize that God is always present everywhere.  But, it sure does seem like his/her Presence is greatly amplified on Mount Shasta.

For me, and many others, Mount Shasta, more than any place on this earth, symbolizes and reflects God/Self/I AM.

Looking at the mountain or spending time sitting or walking on its slopes awakens me from whatever dream of separation I may have been having and brings me back into the joy of the present.

I’m privileged to guide people with many different spiritual beliefs on journeys on Mount Shasta.  I marvel at how the mountain reflects God to each of them in the way they can best relate to.

Christians often experience feeler closer to Jesus.  Hindus may see visions of Krishna.  Folks who are deeply aligned with the Leumurian energies often experience going into the 5th dimensional city of Telos.

Just yesterday, I experienced once again how the Mount Shasta's reflection magically morphs to best serve me where I am.

My father died when I was five so I learned how to get by without paternal love and support.  My mother was very present for me, so I came to rely on her love.  Not surprisingly, when I began to awaken as an adult, I related to God primarily as Divine Mother.

Recently, I have been feeling waves of longing for Father’s Love.

Yesterday, I followed my own advice and took a Sabbath day.  I hiked up the mountain just a bit and found a nice shady spot with a full-on view of the summit.  As I behold that majestic site, I felt a powerful wave of Father’s Love.  The mountain became the father I was longing for.

As I basked in his love, my heart opened wide.  The layers of insulation formed to protect me from the pain of missing my human father melted away.

As I savored the delicious flavor of Father’s Love, I knew that it lived inside of me.  I felt incredible gratitude and then a deep sense of contentment.  There was no longer any separation between me and Father, between me and Mount Shasta.  I remembered once again that I AM.

Mount Shasta Experiences: Full Moon Adventure at Ascension Rock

Mount Shasta Experiences
(c) Bob Small, www.smallshots.com

Last Friday night, a friend and I were inspired to go for a hike up on Mount Shasta in the light of the full moon.  Our destination was Ascension Rock, one of my favorite spots on the mountain.

It was cloudy and quite cold when we started our journey.  We couldn’t see the moonrise.  But, even with the clouds, the moon provided enough light for us to hike without flashlights.

When we got to Ascension Rock, the moon was still hiding.  So, with no outer show being offered, we turned our focus within.

Ascension Rock is an awesome spot to meditate.  Somehow, it always seems that the silent stillness is amplified there.  To me, it’s way easier to disregard my mind and drop into the Presence there than in other places.

After a while, every breath had the taste of nectar.  I sat there for a long time drinking it in, grateful to remember how simple it truly is to come home.

Then, the moon finally revealed herself.  I opened my eyes and behold the glory of God.  The moonlight seemed more intense than ever before.  It was imbued with an energy of pure love.

My friend and I stood on the rocks, bathing in the moonlight.  Then we noticed that the mountain, which also had been hiding behind the clouds, was now visible.  What a moment to be sitting on Ascension Rock, gazing upon the moonlit mountain!

When I came down from the mountain and went into my house, the energy was just as strong.  That which the mountain and the moon had activated was pulsating inside of me.  I sat for hours, my heart bursting with gratitude for the gifts so abundantly given.

Spiritual Life Coaching: Going Through the Easter Doorway

Spiritual Life Coaching

Easter is an auspicious opportunity for each of us to take our next step into greater peace and freedom.  Whether or not we consider ourselves to be Christians, this doorway is wide open.

Jesus’s decree “I Am the Resurrection and the Life” is at the heart of what Easter is all about.  Resurrection means raising up, coming out of fear/judgment/etc back into the love/Christ/pure life energy that I AM.

Take a moment now to feel your heart’s desire to fully awaken to and express the great love which you truly are.  Then, say “I Am the Resurrection and the Life” either silently or out loud.  If those words resonate for you, repeat them as often as is natural over the next fear days.

If fear and other old, contracted energies come up for you, be grateful that those energies have come out of the subconscious into the light of awareness. Dive into them as deeply as you can, then affirm “I Am the Resurrection and the Life.”

The high point of the Easter cycle is sunrise on Sunday morning.  If at all possible, get up early and go to a place in nature where you can watch the sunrise.  In the last moments before the sun appears, feel your deepest desire to be free of any old beliefs/patterns/etc. which have caused you suffering.

When the sun rises, feel the Christ/love being reborn in your heart.  (If it’s overcast and the sun is not visible, know and feel that the sun is still rising in your heart.)  Joyfully affirm “I Am the Resurrection and the Life.”

Sit in silence and bathe in the Christ energy which radiates from your heart.  When you’re ready, go forth and let this energy express in whatever way is natural, whether it’s in community, with family/loved one(s), or in solitude.

I'll be watching the sunrise on Mount Shasta Sunday morning.  Let's join together in spirit to go through the Easter doorway!

Spiritual Life Coaching: The Art of Relaxed Concentration

Spiritual Life Coaching

When I was coaching tennis, I realized that a huge key to success was mastering the art of relaxed concentration.

If a player was deeply relaxed, but not focused on the ball, she might swing freely, but the ball would go all over the place and she wouldn’t win many points.  On the other hand, if she were locked in on the ball, but was tense, she would be more consistent, but  her strokes wouldn’t be very fluid or powerful.

People often think that there’s a trade-off between relaxation and concentration.  But, through my research on the court, I found that wasn’t true.   When I intensely watch the ball, there’s no room in my mind for thoughts like “Oh no, I better not miss this shot.”  Without these thoughts, the body is freed up to respond naturally to the ball.

At the same time, the deeper I relax, the easier it is for me to focus.  When I take a few relaxed breaths between points and let go stress from the previous point, then it’s easier for me to absorb my mind in watching the ball spin up to my racket.

I’ve consistently found that relaxed concentration leads to peak performance in a wide spectrum of other activities.

Relaxed concentration is also not only the key to success in outer activities, but also to in our inner journey.

Deeply relaxing and letting go of control and resistance is essential to finding our way home.  But, if we let go without focus, we may drift into confusion or even mental illness.

Intense focus is needed on the spiritual journey.  It’s essential to have deep hunger to awaken and to focus on the prize, rather than getting caught up distractions.  But, focusing from a place of effort will just perpetuate our old habit and won’t get us anywhere we want to go.

The key is to let go with focus.  In any moment, if we relax and let go into love/breath/God/etc., then we’re home.  The more we taste the beautiful nectar of Now, the easier it gets notice when we’re distracted and relax back into our Self.

Rhythms of Life: The Power of the Spring Equinox

Rhythms of Life

The Spring Equinox offers a powerful spiritual opportunity to all those who chose to tune into it.

The Equinox is the time in the earth’s annual cycle around the sun in which day and night are equal in length, before the days  start to get longer .

In many spiritual traditions, including the Egyptian, Mayan, and Christian, the beginning of Spring is a time of rebirth or resurrection.  After the dominance of darkness/death during the prior six months, the energies of light and life gain the upper hand.

With its short days and, in many locales, cold weather, winter is a time to slow down our outer activities.  While we don’t hibernate like the bears, it’s natural to spend more time indoors and more time doing deep inner work.

The Spring Equinox is the beginning of a new cycle.   After the time of darkness, the light has emerged triumphant.  New life is bursting forth.  Tiny plants peak out through the soil.  Flowers begin popping up everywhere.

The invitation for each of us is to celebrate and embrace life. It’s time to come out of our caves renewed and ready for a fresh start.

This Spring doesn’t need to be a rerun of last Spring or any prior cycle.  The new life that comes to us with this breath is not pre-programmed or limited by the past.  It contains within it all possibilities.

This is a time to shed the burden of  “shoulds” and old habits and let life express naturally and spontaneously through ourbodies, as it does in all the all life forms around us.  It’s a time to be bold and passionate and to follow your heart.
